Brett Terpeluk with Renzo Piano Building Workshop

Text from RPBW website:

ìAurora Place, a multi-purpose project for offices and residential spaces, is sited close to the Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney.

The tower for offices is connected to the residential building by a glass roofed square that acts like an urban microcosm.

The office tower is 200 meters tall with 44 stories yielding a total floor area of 49,000 square meters.

The buildingís double skin, a special stratified glass layer over white ceramic, creates lightness and transparency while acting as a thermoregulator and conserving energy.î

Brett Terpelukís Role: 1998-2000. Brett played a key team role during the later design phases and through the final phases of construction in 2000. Brettís responsibilities (in both Italy and Sydney) included design, construction documentation, and coordination of the following: complex glass-mullion and exposed gear operable faÁade system, inclined and louvered penthouse roof, structural systems for cantilevered facades, custom terra cotta rainscreen cladding, and systems prototyping.
