This project overlays a mixed palette of materials, textures and colors reminiscent of the industrial-pop aesthetic of 1970ís Italy.

The large faceted ceiling assembly fractures the small space with mirrors (north facets) and colorful vintage Italian comic books (south facets). Suspended from each panel are custom LED tube lights of sand-blasted hand-blown borosilicate glass chemistry tubing ñ designed as an alternative to the ubiquitous Edison bulb. Locally-sourced black acacia was doweled for the custom wine racks and cut and assembled into an elongated hex pattern for the bar counters and custom tables. The glossy subway tile, bulbous pizza oven enclosure, and sage green paneling provide a rich textured backdrop to the dining area. The custom concrete sink is modeled after droplets of water. The custom steel and glass storefront, framed by 1970ís BART subway tiles arranged in a floral pattern, slides on luggage-tray ball-bearings, opening-up to the sunny
